As someone who swears by meditation and mindfulness, I'm curious to understand what YOUR experience has been with meditation and mindfulness?
If you haven't ever tried it, why haven't you?
If you've tried it, what made you start? What were you seeking initially?
Curious to read your stories :)
Keep building! 🚀
Meditation never really caught on with me. I try to be mindful though: I have a timer and I check in with myself throughout the day to see how I'm actually feeling. It's helped improve my mental health and I think it's important to find ways to disconnect from work and find time to check in with your needs.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
The timer technique you mentioned seems quite awesome. Helps you come back in the moment. Just that reflection alone can be super helpful in becoming more present in daily life – something that is super helpful to interrupt the thought patterns.
I'm curious, what do you think you'd miss if you stopped doing that for say 3 months? (apart from mental peace :D)
So the timer thing was initially a daily journaling exercise. The idea was to make yourself more aware of your emotions so you could better process intense emotions, like depression or anxiety. I did it about a year or two ago and I've since stopped the journaling part, but I still have the timer and I try to still check in about how I'm doing if I see it. I'm definitely no longer as consistent as I was at the beginning of the exercise. If I got rid of the timer, I don't think my life would drastically change since now, thanks to the original process, I have the coping skills I need when I feel overwhelmed. My only worry about not checking in would be, say, depression or burnout creeping back into my life. I think when you're a solopreneur, it's easy to feel too isolated and overwhelmed with everything you need to do all the time. If that makes sense. !
Oh, that totally makes sense. And nice to hear you developed the muscle to pull yourself back out of a negative / overwhelming situation. That's a real game-changer skill to have, from my experience.
Thanks for sharing your story! :)
Didn't plan to plug, but recently took a hard decision to take a break from my regular (marketing) career and try to do something (coaching/app) for mindfulness, and how I've experienced it. Wouldn't mind hearing your first thoughts (feedback) :)

Just starting out, though. It's puzzling tbh, but figuring it out.
Thanks for the link :)
I have the simplest story, I joined a team that develops a mental health tracker, and started leading the marketing department in it. At first I was skeptical about such actions. To mark something in the application about your habits, ugh, it's not about me! But in any case, I needed to test the functionality, and after a couple of weeks I got involved. Oh! it really changed my life, I became calmer, sleep better and a bunch of other things.
Oh, that sounds phenomenal. My experience was pretty accidental too – changed my life forever.
I'm curious, what app is that?
