Ash IH: best tools to create subtitles for videos?
by
Guillaume Fradin
Anybody here has experience using a tool that creates English subtitles for videos?
Bonus point if:
it can be run via the command line
the output can be fixed/updated
I've used kapwing a lot before and it was pretty nice. Not sure if you can use cli. I used it bc it also has an easy way to adjust resolutions and had subtitles
Thanks a lot for your answer.
So far I've tested clideo, veed, kapwing and youtube, and youtube leads by far to the best results. So as much as I'd like to get away from Google, they won me here.
I'll still try and find a cli tool though, but I haven't found one yet.
Kinda funny, since all of those tools use googles speech to text api for generating subtitles. Results should - in theory - be similar. 🤔
yes, if google is the only API, it should indeed be the same. Unless maybe google is keeping a more advanced version for themselves.
And from my small test, on top of those being different than google, their respective quality levels also differ from each other ( veed and kawpling had similar-ish results, and clideo was lower quality).
