[Ask IH] Anyone working to help towards global issues(climate change, mental health, cancer etc )?

Hey IH!
I wanted to know about communities/products that you're building which are helping with real-world problems like climate change, mental health, cancer, HIV etc.

Would love to connect and learn from your journey of making an impact.

I founded Atman, a legal psychedelic retreat. Intentional psychedelic use is exceptionally good for mental health, and has a range of positive downstream effects 🙂

Wow, this is amazing. Thanks for sharing. I can really connect to the idea. I'd love to attend one of the retreats personally, but I'm from India, wayy far from Jamaica. :)

Awesome! We'd be glad to host you one day if you can make it 🙂

    Hi Gautam,

I'm super passionate about the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 8 - Decent Work and Economic Growth.

Personally, I think remote work can be an engine to help with UN SDG 8.

Check out the about page last section here - https://www.prospercircle.org/about

Look forward to hearing from you.

Oh, nice. Thanks for mentioning SDG 8. I've already been through your product ProsperCircle, just didn't see it this way before. Will connect to you personally some time.

I'm currently building an app that helps people develop positive habits backed by evidenced based lifestyle medicine and to educate people about the healthy ways to live in 5 minutes.

It's a struggle since i'm learning to code but it's been a great journey so far!

    1. 3

Wouldn't be possible to do with no-code? Are you coding to learn a new skill?

      1. 2

Personally I do want to learn coding because it will seem good as a new skill, but I think the app would need to be coded.

        1. 3

If you want to learn a new skill, coding your own app seems like a good one

We are helping people with Avocation to establish healthy habits to improve their life. People already reached out to us, letting us know that our app helps them dealing with depression for example, which is incredible!

Wow. Improving people's lives, which is the aim of social enterprises. It must be the best feeling

I’m not currently, but also would love to hear from IHers doing this! You might get more of the right eyes in this post if you move it to the Social Entrepreneurship group 👍

    1. 2

That makes sense. Moving from community building to social entrepreneurship.

What sort of help does developers need from mentors to have a more compassionate and balanced life?
