Notion as a public-facing website works well for two use cases: simple info pages (portfolio, links page, basic landing page) and shared workspaces where you want clients to access project info.

For solopreneurs specifically, the client portal use case is underused - you can give a client view-only or edit access to a Notion page that shows their project status, deliverables, and shared docs without them needing any extra tool. Clients love it because it feels transparent; you love it because you're already working in Notion.

The limitation is SEO - Notion pages don't index well. If organic discovery matters, you're better off with Super.so or Potion to wrap it, or just using a proper static site for the public-facing layer. But for internal sharing and client portals, raw Notion is surprisingly effective.
