Which I guess makes me: not the ideal co-founder.
You'd be surprised how many folks are looking for a technical co-founder.
Some people love scary marketing stuff and are looking for lock-down coders ;)
Communication is key. Look for a co-founder that shares complimentary skillsets, and you'd be amazed how much things get done.

I'll take the lead here.
A good candidate for my dream co-founder would be Jason Fried, founder or 37signals/Basecamp.
I find his approach to business super smart, leading with common sense and no BS.
He also seems to be a very good balance between a killer entrepreneur and a person who doesn't create unnecessary pressure around getting a job done.
Yeah. Him or DHH would be killer.
Anyone who has scaled a business with people (ie. hired a lot, fired a lot) would be great as well.
Yea, as well. DHH is a killer, but at times could be a bit too much of a SJW.

Haha, yes, that was actually the trigger for my research, as it fascinated me more than reading his book, Zero to One. And from there I started digging into other sources - reading old interviews / portraits or listening to podcasts where he was invited (actually, only had time to listen to this one: https://jamesaltucher.com/2014/09/peter-thiel/ )

I did, I loved all those behind-the-scene details! And I'd recommend listening to their podcast episode first to anyone who's not sure if they should read Conspiracy :) That's how I found out about James' old podcast episode with Peter Thiel.

More context on the guy and reasons?
He was one of the first employees on Coinbase, so has lots of experience on how to build and scale and really knows about the blockchain ecosystem. Also seems someone I could get along as a co-founder, he is behind a crypto hedge fund called Polychain now.

What does he do?
He's a character from the tv show Silicon Valley.
Basically he's a tech guy who found out a new awesome compression technology and the show is focused on his (many) struggles in running his startup.
Good show btw, I bet a lot of people here would enjoy it, it pokes fun at startups a lot.
