Ask IH: Dropbox Photo Manager. Should I build it?
Hello everyone!
Dropbox Carousel has been shutted down and I want something to manage and view my Dropbox photos. Ideally it should be something like Picasa but for web. With ability to tag images and create albums.
Does anyone know a good solution? Or should build one myself? Is it a good business idea to start with?
Not sure if I'm right, but I see most people (including myself) have moved to Google Photos as it works great and is free.
I still understand that there are some people who use Dropbox, but I doubt there are enough people to justify a paid product. But this is more of a feeling, rather than fact-based. So I might be wrong.
Maybe OP should consider the type of customer. It's true that the mainstream will gravitate toward "good enough" and free solutions, but if you can build something better for other types of users, maybe wedding photographers, or something, that's something you could charge money for (also professionals have money to spend).
