Ask IH: Feedbacks for my first landing page?

Hello there,

After multiple years of passive entrepreneurial reading, I made my first landing page for an idea :
https://audiocourse.io

I’ll be glad to get some feedbacks on the page and on the idea behind it.

Thanks,

    re Idea:

( 1 ) Why would a teacher use your platform versus create a podcast?

( 2 ) Why would a listener use your platform versus listen to a podcast?

re Brand. Bland. Not memorable. Highly recommend checking out the 11 Immutable Laws of Branding.

re Page. The intro is descriptive rather than problem-solving. You're tackling problems that are worthy headliners, e.g. dearth of learning opportunities for the visually impaired, challenge of learning given a packed schedule. Highlight 'em.

I don't mind a minimalist approach, but there's a thin line between minimalist and boring. I think you may be crossing it given the palette and lack of visuals. You're asking your audio-leaning audience to slog through a lot of text without a reprieve. Given that you're pushing the auditory angle, you'd be wise to include some sort of (optional) listening component on your landing page.

Thanks for the great feedbacks Harlem.
      Concerning your questions :
      (1)

      • They can't make paid podcasts.
      • They can't easily have interactive elements with podcasts (quizzes, assessments)
      • Same difficulty to have a community of students centered around the content.

      (2)

      • Courses will be complete and structured, which isn't the case of most of the podcasts.
      • More interactions (I have still to deepen this aspect)
      • Fellow learner community

That's my current opinion for those questions. As I dig deeper on this problematic, they may change.

    Feedback on the page:

    • Lose the "You may ask... Why?" line - it's redundant
    • My first question is "what is this?" and you don't answer that explicitly. I'd love to see some mock ups of what this marketplace is going to look like, maybe with a list of features. That would make things more concrete for me, and make me more likely to give you my email address

    Feedback on the idea:

    • Sounds quite broad. Is there a specific niche you can focus on to get it off the ground? Marketplaces are a two-sided problem, so fixing for a niche is generally a good idea (if you don't have some other way to fix the cold start problem).

      Thanks for you feedbacks Grey.
I should definitively be more precise and thorough on the "What is this" aspect.

Concerning the last point, starting with a niche can be a good idea. For the moment business and personal development seems to be the most promising fields for that. But I have to continue my researches to choose the best path.
