Ask IH: finding people who sell Chrome Extensions?
I recently launched Analytics for Google Payments, which provides ChartMogul-/Baremetrics-like business metrics for Google merchants. I'm initially targeting people who sell Chrome Extensions since that's the use case I'm most familiar with.
Does anybody know places that Extension merchants hang out? I can usually count on reddit to find niche communities, but I've found r/chromeextensions and r/chromeapps to be pretty barren.
How about browsing the chrome store and cold-emailing whoever you think would be a good fit ?
Yup, I've been reaching out to folks directly with moderate success. I'm eager to find new channels, though; cold emailing isn't something I feel comfortable doing at scale.

If you're looking to scale, that's how I would do it :
Provide real value for free to your target market through content marketing.
You say there is no place where those merchants hang out, how about building a community for them to hang out and discuss ? You can then use the community to pitch your product, or something like "Community is sponsored by Your_Product"
Find someone who already has an audience of merchants and do some kind of partnership with him
