Ask IH: Hackers, do you ever think about embedding AI in your products?
Hi IH-ers,
Given that I run a startup that enables AI for startups and companies, I'm curious about what the IH community thinks about AI in general? I'm researching whether we can help create more AI-enabled projects and make it easier for indie hackers/entrepreneurs.
Here are some questions I'm interested to get your feedback on:
- Do you ever think about embedding AI in your product?
- If not, why not? Is there anything that's stopping you?
- If yes, have you done already so and how were the results?

I have been involved in a few projects that had AI somewhere.
My feel in general is that AI is a hammer that make everything look like a nail, so I try to be cautious in general in cases where simpler approaches work just fine.
Or it might just be my ignorance.
Which use cases does your company implement most often @tt?
Fear of Skynet, basically (only half kidding).
In truth though, I'm a believer that the majority of apps and sites don't actually need AI and a large chunk of people are putting in a lot of effort to implement it into their tech stack that doesn't actually need it. I like the concept of AI and I think there is great potential for it, but I also think it's largely unnecessary for lots of projects that are using it.
