Ask IH: How are you sending and receiving invoices? (Payments)

Love the idea. I worked on a similar concept a few months ago (Payd) when I was on the Startup Bus, but I didn't follow through with it for various reasons. You'll notice the site has since been neglected.

I'm happy to share the research/customer validation I collected while on the bus as well as additional insights into the payments and billing industry (I work in payments and billing).

The biggest pain point I found after talking with 20-25 freelancers online and offline was enforcing contracts.

A lot of the current solutions (ex. AndCo) send email reminders to clients if they're late on a payment and some will go as far as mailing physical letters to your clients if you don't get paid, but the reality is very few freelancers (<10% ) actually will go the distance to enforce those contracts through lawyers or small claims court because it makes more sense to move on to the next project and get paid instead of waste countless hours on a few $100 here and there.
