Ask IH: How can I make this more engaging?
I love music. After fiddling with YouTube API, I wanted to play with Soundcloud API. Since YouTube being video does not run in screen lock, unlike audio I built https://musicjolly.com/radio/ with Soundcloud. This mixes local news (TTS) and music.
I need your ideas to make this more engaging for the users.

P.s. Ignore the rocket. It's Diwali here. Also, the songs are in Hindi language.

I think you might add some copy to the website to clearly explain what is the product about - since it took me a few minutes to realize it. :)
Also, you might consider adding a better female voice - as I guess it is a really important part for listeners, everybody wants to hear a pleasuring voice rather than a robotic one.
What I've got on my mind also is - adding a feature to let users decide on how frequently they want to hear news - for example, on every song, on every second song, etc..

Yeah, I totally understand - I have just thought that "that part" is one that matters and maybe should be improved a bit. Maybe ask some friend who has fluent English & nice voice to improve your service just a little bit. :)
Can we build a TTS on our own?
Pretty unsure about that (I am a non-technical person) - but you can ask/hire someone to speak enough amount of news sentences -> which could help you validate your idea in terms of user engagement.
Later on, you will see if you shall really invest money in it. :)
