Hmm, I'm not entirely sure what the issue is, but my #1 guess is that your image is too large. From your GIF, it looks like it's 12MB. Can you try adding a smaller test image and see if it works?
EDIT: I just tried uploading a smaller image as your avatar and it worked! (It didn't look like it worked at first immediately after I uploaded, as there was no change. But then I refreshed and it was changed. You might have to do the same.)
Hey Courtland I'll try now. I didn't even think of image size, doh. But I'm hesitant to change it to my picture because the picture you uploaded is way better than my ugly mug :) Thanks!
EDIT: Yup, it was the filesize. Works now.
