ASK IH: Keeping shipping costs low with low cost product?

Hey everyone,

I'm currently in the process of creating a business in which my product is low cost (~$10 per order), and I'm worried about how shipping costs will affect my sales. I fear a high shipping cost will deter my customers if it costs more than their order, and I'm looking for any advice on how to approach this issue. What are some things I can do to ship cheaply? Should I charge my customers for shipping or increase prices but offer free shipping?
