Ask IH: Marketing hacks

Hey, Hackers! Let's share some marketings hacks with each other. How much did you spend on advertising? What channels gave you the most boost? What channels failed?

I suggest to use the following template:

  1. Your product
  2. Product type (SaaS, PaaS, eCommerce, etc...)
  3. The best channel + average price per lead
  4. The worst channel
  5. Insights

    I will start:

    1. Qase.io - test case management platform for QA and Dev teams.
    2. SaaS
    3. Telegram blog post. I've paid about 50$ and got 500 visitors and 100 signups in a day. That's about 0.1$ per visitor and about 0.5$ per signup.
    4. Google AdWords. Spent about 100$ and got 2 signups.
    5. For DevX projects, in my opinion, the best marketing channel is blog post from influencers. IT people like to use the software, used by their friends, teammates, or influencers with good reputation. So the best option is to advertise using popular tech blogs.

Hi, love the post idea. Curious what you mean by "Telegram blog post". Thanks

Telegram is a popular messenger in Russia: https://telegram.org/. Here you can create any channel and broadcast messages to its subscribers. I've found a channel with 6k subscribers (software engineers), contacted it's owner and placed ad post. That gave such a great impact.
