Ask IH: need advice on validating my project (promo code included)
I just started the process of validating my latest project. It's a type of intrusion detection system where I host 'fake websites' for users, and they can create 'bait credentials' for the sites and get alerted when intruders try to use them. It's similar in nature to https://www.canarytokens.org in the sense that the bait credentials act like a canary.
Anyway - I've reached out to a lot of potential customers and the response has been generally positive. But the positive response hasn't started to translate into very many active users yet (so far I've reached out to about 70 potential users via reddit, and I've got about 5 of them to sign up with a promo code). My promo code page is only converting at about 10%. I'm getting ready to redesign the splash page/copy based on some of the feedback I've received.
