Ask IH - "no go" problems or ideas?

Hi fellow IH’ers

I would love to hear your opinion on 'no-go' ideas/problems/segments of market etc. Based on your experiences, observations etc what problems/ideas seems very appealing on the intellectual level but close to impossible businesswise (in context of indie hacking).

My takes:

  • new email client - very high number of base-line features, huge players on the market… and working with email is still painful
  • dev tools - in general I mean not (fully) open sourced dev tools

PS: I hope the whole idea of no-go will be more an inspiration than a warning (hacking means something after all :))

If you are solo and want to make your product after work then I'd definitely recommend to start with something smaller.

100% agree, but my post was more about more general 'trend' or ideas regarding the team size.
Do you have any ideas/experience to share on that?

I’ll be releasing a dev tool in the next week or so with some trepidation. I too feel the same way about dev tools. In general, it’s hard to get devs to pay, at least in amounts that are appreciable. I’ll post when I can with what I observe.

Oh man I'll keep my fingers crossed!

What was the origin of your project/product?
Your personal need or more a general observation (both maybe)?

Yup mostly out of personal need. I’ll post it on IH once it’s out lol.
