Hi, I'm starting a new project to blog about personal investments in Canada for Brazilians/Portuguese Speakers. The blog will be in Portuguese.
I have all the topics that I want to talk about and I can see that there is no other source of information like that available in Portuguese.
My objectives are:
I will eventually try to monetize the blog.
Does anyone have experience blogging for a specific niche? What did go right, and what did go wrong?
Do you know how many Brazilians/Portuguese speakers are there in Canada? I bet there are regional Facebook groups where all Portuguese-speaking people are in. You could use these groups to reach your audience. As others said, the content is the king. If you have great regular content, people will come.
I have the following tips for blogs with the intent for monetization:
My guess is that someone interested in investing in Canada is also fluent in English and so you will be competing with the best resources out there. I could be wrong obviously.
Hey @rapphil,
I'm Brazilian, although I don't live in Canada I'm interested in investing and also writing to Brazilian Portuguese speakers about career and investments.
Please drop your link once you have it, let's keep in touch :)
The narrow the audience the better, I would say. And yes, keep the story real and authentic. Don't try to reach 1 million audience, but a fanatic fan of 100.

Keep it very specific and write quality content. But before that, build relationships and create trust on social media. Tell your story and why you are doing it. People like stories so be real. Tell your WHY. Why you are doing it? And again, keep it specific, go deep not broad. I am also in Canada so I know how much people like talking about money and for immigrants this is huge value because we were raised differently, right? Great job. Good luck!
