Ask IH: Tips on sending emails to potential users

Hey IH!

TL;DR: I'm new at reaching out to people, could use advice as to how to structure emails.

Recently I've been tinkering with different ideas and I finally found one that I want to validate with a certain group of people I have in mind. I've never reached out to any prospective users to invite them for a chat/coffee (tech background speaking here 🙂)

My idea targets people who write food/recipe blogs. I want to approach some of those creators (by mail) and trigger their curiosity with my idea to see if this is something those creators would want/are looking for.

Now I'm thinking of just being frank and straightforward in the email (and subject of the email) that I can add value to their work. I'm not sure whether that would come off as spam-y or actually interesting.

Coming to the point here, as I know many of you have done such things (very successfully). I would love to learn from the masters and then go out in the field and apply obtained knowledge and iterate on that.

Anyway, appreciate you making it this far in the post! Many thanks in advance for your advice!

P.s. Big brownie points if anyone knows any such creator and can forward me!
