Ask IH: Trying to Measure the IH Economy
Hello IH! I recently read the Tech Press List interview and in it @petecodes lists some of the products he used and they include products that were made by other members of IH.
Pete's interview got me interested in trying to measure and map the IH Economy. The first part of this was getting an estimate for the total monthly revenue of the products in the Product Directory. The number I got blew my mind:
$11,302,210/month
The second part of this is trying to see how much registered members of IH spend on fellow IndieHacker's products. To do this I created the following form:

If you're interested in this then please take some time to fill out the form linked above regarding the products you have used. It won't take a lot of time to fill out... unless you've used a lot of products which is GREAT!! (although even then it won't take too much time to submit the products used -- I promise :) )
hotjar is missing--but I guess thats because it was a podcast and not a product listing.

Wow this is cool, one thing I was wondering about in addition to totals and how big the economy is overall, is how many people are registered on IH vs how many people have products making $
I agree, that would be interesting to look at. I've scoped my analysis to the Product Directory because, although kind of outdated (which makes sense since the interviews are still relevant whether or not a product is earning more or is no longer operating), it has all the data there.
The thing I'm most interested in, as explained by the form, is how many registered on IH, firstly, spend money on other products on IH and, lastly, what's an estimate of the amount spent. I think that if this is a good number then more people will be encouraged to post an interview. The more interviews posted the better the data we have and the closer we get to answering your question.
Also, there are really great products in the Directory so having more would be a huge positive!
