#ask-ih: What are the key challenges of working remotely

Hello IndieHackers!

Let me pick you brain this Monday.

We're trying to build a blogpost about the key challenges of working remotely and we already listed 5 common challenges we've identify from personal experience and content review. Yet, we want to get it validated and we'd like to enrich the list.

Also, we'd be happy to mention contributors in the article (which we plan to publish on Hacker Noon).

Since we know there's a lot of remote workers on IH we'd love to get your contribution.

Here's the current list:

🏝 you can feel isolated from your colleagues
This is especially true in mixed team where part of the team work from an office and another part from a remote location.

🌫 it’s difficult to know what’s happening in the organisation
When you work remote, you may miss the smalltalk, the verbal conversation and decisions happening throughout the day.

😤 people think you’re not working just because you’re not “in the office”
Typical perception in companies where remote work isn't yet well established or not yet fully part of the company culture.

🗣 you just want to tell what you’re working on
It's sometimes frustrating to not be able to share easily what you're up to or celebrate small successes when they happen nor get those from others.
