Ask IH: What are you using to handle invoicing and VATMOSS for your EU based SaaS?

Jannis @jayfk

I've used [Monsum [1] and Octobat [2] in the past and checked out Quaderno [3].

What all of them have in common is that they charge a flat monthly fee, which makes it quite costly for micro/very small services, especially in the first couple of months.

What are you using?

[1] Monsum: https://www.monsum.com/ starts at 99 EUR/month, not recommended
[2] Octobat: https://octobat.com/ starts at 39 EUR/month, somewhat recommended
[3] Quaderno: https://www.quaderno.io/pricing/ starts at UDS 99/month, no personal experience

Stumbled upon Paddle which is also discussed here on IH: https://www.indiehackers.com/forum/anyone-using-paddle-for-subscriptions-experiences-7d0c5fe4f6

It looks like they've changed their pricing, though. People are discussing 5% + 30 cents per transaction but the pricing page on paddle.com asks for an email address to get a quote (which is usually not a good sign).

We use Paddle.com, It acts as a reseller and they handle all the tax stuff for you. They transfer your earnings once a month, which means you only need to do the book keeping for this single transaction.

Stripe lists a couple more on their partner page here: https://stripe.com/partners/apps-and-extensions?n=tax-calculation
