Ask IH: What read-it-later app do you use?

I've noticed I no longer use Pocket, but instead just send a link to myself via Telegram, so I have one flow of links surrounded by any additional info I want to add. An obvious disadvantage of this approach is that a common messenger lacks many features which apps like Pocket have.

I'm looking for a simple chat-like app with features of Pocket e.g. content-based search and auto tags. Is there something like this? What do you use for saving links?

    I use https://www.alwaysreading.io - it's free.

This small web app has browser extension, so it's easy to add articles to read for later (just like in Pocket). Also, this app allows me to set my own reading schedule and sends me an e-mail reminder with one article link per day.

As a bonus, It appeared very useful for me to solve the productivity issue with distractions on useful articles in inappropriate time.

I noticed I wasn't using Pocket much either, so I switched to https://www.instapaper.com instead. The speed reading feature is a bonus and its simplicity is exactly what I was hoping for.

I use https://feedly.com it works great and has a free tier. I usually use the mobile app but the desktop app is also great for the days you are focused on just catching up with your latest feeds.

Hi Victor, how come you don't use Pocket any more?

I use pocket but admit I often just find it easier to email myself links to file / read later!

I save the pages to an Evernote notebook, this way they are available offline, are sortable and this way it stays manageable for me, using pocket every article ended up in the void of "might get to this someday".

Plus it only costs me one click from the browser.

I use https://laterbin.com/ for iOS and desktop. Why? Because I built it :)
