Ask IH: Where do you create your Coming Soon pages?

I want a dead simple "Coming Soon" page for a service I'm working on that can also collect leads (email) . I've tried MailChimp but it's way too complex for my needs.

Ideal steps:

$ point my-domain.com to imaginary saas coming-soon.dev
$ npm install coming-soon
$ edit coming-soon.json (title, description, background image, email)
$ coming-soon deploy

It shouldn't take more than 5 minutes, tops. What are you using?

      I’ve stumbled across it in the last year or so, but haven’t actually used it. Looks promising, will check it out!

    Buy your domain name. Design your static coming soon page, html, images, css.
    2 steps:
    npm install --global surge
    surge

    Cost: Free.
    Visit surge.sh

      I would pay to not have to design it. I just want to write the texts and boom, a landing page that looks like 2019. I’m a coder, not a designer :)

      I need to tidy it up and not even sure if that's what I'll call it, but just wanted to show the speed at which you can get something up. Using your own domain and mailing list, just a few minutes more.

    Great question.

    How much would you be willing to pay for this service?

      $5 / month if it works the way I want.
