Hi all, I was just playing around with the Google Maps API trying to find businesses that match my search criteria and was wondering if this is something that other people would find useful?
Type in a search criteria (i.e. "plumbers") and give it a location (i.e. "New York") and set a search radius (i.e 5km) and let it find you all the plumbers in New York city within a 5km radius.
You can select the businesses you want to target and add it to your curated list. They start off as cold but you work each one by emailing/calling etc. and slowly start to "warm" them up to your B2B and hopefully turn them into customers.
Is there anyone that would find a value in something like this? I was looking for plumbers in my area and was quickly able to find nearly 1200 plumbers in my state (their number, email, opening hours, website etc.)
I was thinking being able to search for businesses and being able to build a mini CCRM (cold-contacts relationship manager) would be useful for B2B startups trying to find businesses.
It's mainly just querying a few Google Maps API endpoints in series with some data cleanup along the way. I've got it in several scripts at the moment but if there's any interest I can put together a UI over it!
This sounds to me a bit like BlastPoint, so I'd say there's a market for it. Don't know how many businesses are searching for that sort of geographically-oriented solution beyond that
Thanks @sunshowerlisa I didn't know about BlastPoint, I'll take a look!
I was thinking from a small business/early stage start up view where you are in the space of providing X service to Y businesses so you can start curating a list of cold businesses but work towards warming it up.
Or maybe an excel sheet would work to the same effect...?
I could see it. Especially if you're able to go the extra bit and find contact info.
