Ask IN: Is our landing page convincing enough to get new users ?
Hello IN,
We have built GoNevis, a blogging platform for individual bloggers or teams (we're adding social features into it as well).
I just wanted to ask you if our landing page is clear and convincing enough to lead visitors to signup.
If something is wrong or could be better on the landing page, what would that be and how do you think we can improve ?
Blogging platform is an hard field, imho.
Wordpress is super powerful, and super famous... it powers 28% of the web last time I checked.
Wordpress' main competitors are powerful as well, and with great resources/users base (wix, ghost, etc.)
So you should ask yourself why a typical user would prefer your service to Wordpress? What's make your platform different/better?
You should try to answer these question.
Finally, i was disappointed (that's my honest thought) when I found out that the list of questions in the homepage is an image that doesn't link nowhere.
Blogging platform is truly an hard field, indeed.

I didn't find list of questions, we don't have list of question or FAQ on the page. I appreciate it if you could tell me which part you meant.
Sorry, it's not a list of question...
It's the list of posts, eg. "New Dashboard feel & look design improvements", "new shiny themes updates", etc.
I tried to click some of them, before realizing it's just an image.
I see and get your point.
The same I guess goes for https://www.gonevis.com/#dashboard which you even slide it with that tiny button on top right of the image.
Those are screenshots of the dashboard that bloggers would have.
We can surely mock set link on them, means we actually build those widgets.
To actually have them as screenshots, do you think we frame them in a some kind of desktop/laptop view so users don't get confused with them or you think having actually links to those content on the blog would help ?
ps: in the dashboard, if user clicks on the post links, they will reach to post editor.
It's somehow strange, I immediately realized that the dashboard was a screenshot, and not a really working widget, despite the possibility to slide the view...
But the same didn't happen for the post list...
I don't know exactly why, but possibly cause the post lists is more textual widget, and maybe a bit out of context (as first displayed information on the page).

I'll have our frontend developer work on this and figure out how to make it more clear.
