Ask Indie Hackers: Payment gateway for 3rd World Country without too many requirements?
Hello everybody. A friend and I are going to launch a SaaS aimed at developers. We are in South America and we would need to accept monthly payments from devs and bussiness. Stripe isn't in our country yet and we don't like Paypal (it looks amateurish).
We aren't a company / bussiness yet, so we only want to accept recurring monthly payments with credit cards and that's all. We can't provide any bussiness documentation, etc., since we are not registered (we are just starting and want to test the waters before do any paperwork)
What would be the best option for us? After getting the payments, we would need to take it out to Payoneer or Paypal.

Hey, I think PayPal is not the worst choice. I know many people who only buy from online shops if they offer PayPal. In the B2B sector, however, credit cards are still the most popular.
I don't know the legal situation in South Africa, but in Germany it can quickly become problematic if you earn money with something that is not registered. Germany is perhaps a bit special in that respect.

We will pay taxes but as person not as a company, so that's fine (we are in South America by the way).
I will look into Chargebee and Paddle.
The problem with Paypal is that the checkout process doesn't look good I think, and making a company to use Paypal may sound cheap. That's why I'd prefer a credit card checkout. Thank you Niecke! :)
