Asking for advice about how to find your niche.

Hi, I'm working in a "smart address book app" but right now I'm struggling finding groups of people for what the app can be useful.

I was thinking about groups of people with high use of their mobile address book or high contact rotation.

So far I have: Airbnb host, RRHH, Real State agents, commercials (I dunno if any kind in particular?)

Do you have any other ideas?

I'm in no way successful, but for what it's worth, here's what I've learnt from seeing a few ideas I've had fail.

Whatever niche you find, make sure you enjoy speaking to the people in that niche, and hearing about their problems, and trying to be helpful to them.

Even though my first ideas didn't go anywhere, I've really enjoyed the meeting interesting people. In my case, entrepreneurs, small business owners, and freelancers working together across time zones and borders. Now I'm excited about my next project to help them.

In your case, take Airbnb hosts as an example. If you happen to know some Airbnb hosts, talk to them about their problems. Try to get to know more hosts. Become a host. Go to meetups.

You'll soon find lots of interesting problems they have that you could solve. Maybe it's a better address book. Maybe it's something else.

If you invest your time into getting to know them and their problems, and helping them, it won't matter of your first idea fail.

You'll soon be an expert on the issues faced by Airbnb hosts. You'll know who ask for feedback. And if you build something they need it will grow.
