At 50, I built the AI workbench that making me feel 25 Again (and it might help you too)
As a 50-year-old serial entrepreneur, I find myself immersed in the world of generative AI while many of my peers are enjoying life and remain skeptical about the future of large language models.
As a heavy user of LLMs, I often need help from ChatGPT and Claude, but their free versions have limitations, and even paid plans don't always meet my needs. As a developer of generative AI applications, I also need to debug APIs from different vendors. Although they each have own playgrounds, they are not interoperable and lack complete features.
I longed for a more powerful and open workbench with a friendly GUI, connecting to mainstream model APIs without restrictions on conversation turns and context length, offering comprehensive features for exploring LLM capabilities at controllable costs.
After months of development and refinement, I finally finished the product named ConsoleX.ai.
Its main features include:
- Unified and friendly conversation-based GUI
- Integration of 300+ large models from 20+ vendors
- Side-by-side comparison of the model outputs
- Easy switching between AI assistant and playground modes
- Visual input based on various models
- External workflow invocation through tools, enabling features like image generation
- Utilizing AI agents to form virtual teams, improving work efficiency

- Managing common used system prompts through prompt library
It offer a freemium subscription model and on-demand payment. Free starter plan users can use ConsoleX's chat-style GUI, integrate their own models, agents, and tools, and use some shared models on a pay-per-use basis. Paid builder plans provide more powerful shared models, agents, tools, larger image and file upload sizes, and unlimited conversation history and file storage duration.
I have now unsubscribed from all model vendors' paid plans and use ConsoleX as my generative AI workbench. I believe that only by first satisfying my own needs as a user can I provide valuable products and services to more builders.
Although I am an old entrepreneur in the generative AI field with significant life pressures, I still feel full of energy and firmly believe that generative AI will profoundly change our world. I hope to invest in and participate in this process.
Began from last week, I finally started to receive some sales revenue. Although the amount is not huge, it gives me more motivation and confidence to persist in creating a high-quality and valuable product.
