We just launched Avocado (AvocadoAudio.com), a platform for the world’s best audio courses.
We have 60+ course creators already and are looking for more courses in the business, marketing, entrepreneurship, productivity space (basically targeting indie hackers with our courses).
Would love any feedback you guys have as course creators (or listeners).

Loving this product idea. Hows things going? Do the creators get a lot of listens? I'm wondering how they judge their performance?
Great we just opened up storefronts so creators can sell their audio courses directly to their audiences. Basically Shopify for audio courses.
So cool. I love it.
With something like YouTube, the thumbnail is so important. It entices people, pulls people in.
Podcast players use the podcasts artwork. That works to get you to try the podcast. Once you believe the podcast has value for you, the title & subtitle are enough.
I'm wondering, how do you guy approach this? How do creators entice people into their courses?
Realistically most of the selling will happen off platform on personal websites, social media, drip campaigns, newsletters, etc. We just handle the conversion.
On platform, the first lesson is set to free so many creators will include a preview there. Otherwise it's the title and description.
Hey, this looks great. What are your thoughts on which subject matter works best on audio? For example, I'd think wellness, self-development and entrepreneurship would be great, but marketing analytics or more technical topics wouldn't be easy without visuals.
This is what we are focused on figuring out right now. I largely agree with your list and it is where the my personal followings/interests already are so that's what we are narrowing in on. Basically targeting what busy professionals who could use on the go learning would be interested in. Hoping to prove it out in the next month.
For more technical subjects or concepts, don't you just include downloadable supplemental pdf's?

Looks like a great idea @colinkeeley. I just signed up!. Quick question, what is the scope for converting already existing courses into Audio Courses with AvocadoAudio?
Or is the main focus to have only original audio courses created within Avocado itself?

It's a mix. Audio-first courses tend to perform best, but some video courses are just someone talking at a camera and perform well too. Our uploader accepts both video and audio files so uploading is really easy for existing creators.

I'm a health coach and want to reach people where they are. Everyone has time to listen - such a great idea!
We just added some courses like a guide to sleep. What do you have in mind?
Health/wellness is a huge piece of productivity.

I've been waiting for a product like this for a long time: a modern version of audio tapes. Very cool! Release it for Android and my wait will be over 😉
