Authentic Product Discovery: A Weekly Newsletter for True Enthusiasts - Share Your Thoughts!
Hello everyone,
I'm a growth guy, and I like to discover new product to improve my productivity, my job, or just out of curiosity.
A few years ago, Product Hunt emerged. It was great for discovering products.
Things have changed a lot. Initially, it was a community about hunting great products and nice discoveries.
Nowadays is about paying hunters with a lot of followers to post your products and asking all your network to upvote your product to brag about how you made it to the top X of Product Hunt.
The posting about nice products online and discovering them is now gone. If you try to publish something because you found it online and want to share it with the community, but you don't have a network of people to “fakely" upvote it, the product will be hidden at the bottom, nobody will see it.
Discovery and community are gone.
That's why I want to start a new project. I'm not closed to other ideas, but in my mind, I want to send a weekly newsletter about products I discovered. Along with the product discovered, I share some reviews.
So here are the questions I ask myself, and I would love your input:
- What do you think of the idea? Please be rude if necessary :)
- What is your thought about Product Hunt?
- how do you discover new products today?
- If you subscribed to a newsletter like I propose, what convinced you to sign up for it?
