Automatic S3 Image Optimization

I've encountered a problem, whereby we need to optimise images inside an S3 bucket and replace the original files. This is because a third party integrates to retrieve our images.

So far, I've turned a blank to find an existing service that does this. The "image optimisation" market focuses on providing a CDN with a fancy API - Cloudinary, Imgix etc

There is the potential to find a tool that we can self host, but these are outdated and unmaintained. Additionally, they do not replace the original.

Has anyone else faced this problem? If so, how do you solve it now? Would you be interested in a product that solves this?

Sounds like a job a Powershell or bash script could do. There are tools that can mount S3 buckets as local drives, so the script could run ImageOptim or something similar, and then push the updated files over the originals in S3.

It's probably a few hours' work for someone on Fiverr or Upwork to do for you.
