Hey everyone!
Like many of you, I've noticed how brutal social media algorithms (TikTok, Reels, Shorts) have become lately. You can spend days editing a video, only for it to get 0 views because of a hidden "silent trigger" — a word in the text, a frames issue, or background objects the AI didn't like.
I wanted to solve this pre-upload, so I built ShadowGuard (https://getshadowguard.com). It runs local AI safety scans on video frames and metadata to flag potential violations before you hit upload.
Currently, it's bootstrapped and free to test with a 150MB file limit. We are also preparing for a Product Hunt launch tomorrow!
Would love to get some feedback from fellow indie hackers on the landing page and the core concept. How do you usually handle platform policy compliance?
The concept is strong because the pain is already urgent: creators do not just fear policy violations, they fear wasting hours on a video that gets silently buried.
I’d be careful with the framing though.
“AI safety scans” sounds accurate, but it may feel a bit technical. The stronger creator-facing promise is probably closer to:
“Check your video for shadowban risks before you upload.”
That makes the outcome instantly clear.
For the Product Hunt launch, I’d also avoid positioning this too broadly as “compliance.” Most creators do not think in compliance language. They think in reach, views, monetization, and avoiding silent penalties.
The cleanest first audience might be short-form creators who already edit heavily and care about every upload: TikTok/Reels/Shorts creators, agencies, UGC creators, and faceless-channel operators.
Happy to put a tighter version in writing if useful. The useful part would be the PH launch angle, landing page message, first creator segment, and how to turn free testers into actual feedback after launch.
Wow, thanks for this! You're 100% right. Creators really don't care about "compliance" or technical jargon — they just want their views and don't want to waste hours editing a video that gets dead on arrival.
I love that phrasing: “Check your video for shadowban risks before you upload.” It’s way more direct and actually speaks the creator's language. I'm definitely going to tweak the landing page copy to reflect this.
Short-form agencies and faceless channels are exactly the crowd I'm aiming for, since a silent reach drop completely ruins their numbers.
I’d absolutely love to see your tighter version for the PH launch angle and landing page. Please hit me with it — it would be a massive help for tomorrow's launch!
Yes, this is exactly the kind of thing that should be tighter before tomorrow’s launch.
The main risk is that the PH page sounds like a technical safety tool instead of a creator reach-protection tool.
Drop your email and I’ll send over a compact version tonight. I’d keep it focused on the launch headline, first creator segment, landing page promise, and how to turn free testers into useful feedback after PH.
Awesome, appreciate it! You can reach me at admin [at] getshadowguard [dot] com.
(The platform won't let me post direct links yet). Looking forward to your email tonight, thanks a ton!
Just sent you a note.
Kept it focused on the PH headline, launch framing, creator-facing promise, and the feedback loop for tomorrow’s launch.
