Hello,
I have built an esports site for news and matches. E.g. it had calendars and schedules of up coming tournaments, live streams, results, etc.
I am looking at ways to help me automate content generation or add automation into the content generation process. An example would be, if I hire freelance writers for news articles, how can add automation into this process. E.g. finding freelancers, checking articles, posting them.
Thanks for your help,
Hi Brad,
I'm working on a product to automate the production of marketing video content -- https://verifiablee.com . The product lets you set up templates/workflows that you can use to build video content automatically. You can record clips yourself, source from other people, crowdsource, etc. Let me know if this is something that might be helpful for your use case!
Hey Brad, love what you're working on bro. Content Automation is a new big thing and isn't fully up to speed yet. However, 'Spread' is going to pave the way. (soon).
This isn't an automated process yet, but very soon you'll be able to connect your content channels such as IG, Youtube, and your Blog to your Spread account. Then when you log on to Spread, 10 more pieces of content will be ready to schedule on your Spread dashboard.
Sounds cool yeah?
Currently, it is a (very) manual MVP process. But if you sign up now you'll be emailed as soon as everything goes automated....
Check it out bro - https://www.spreadtech.online/
Hey,
really cool site and idea. I definitely can see me using it in the future. I'm not making YT Videos at the moment but as soon as I start I'll give it a run.
304 people in front of me for Beta. Nice an popular you are already! Congrats on the soft launch.
Thank you very much Brad. Great to talk with you. I see you round IH so much... ahhaha
Content generation is a bit vague. What content exactly are you looking for? Is it mainly text-based articles based on a specific theme or event or? Is it pictures, charts, diagrams or videos?
Good question. One of the most time consuming actions I am finding at the moment is the creation of news articles so that was my original focus.
I'm currently working email content automation as well but this is more straightforward. E.g. querying the top post from the last 7 days, most viewed VoDs, and upcoming tournaments, then compiling a campaign in MailChimp. This whole process can be automated and be zero touch.
Another focus for me is sharable content like infographs and clips, so suggestions on how to improve the workflow to create these would be create.
Ok so a few follow-up questions:
The news articles are based on other sources or in general unique reports generated by you? Basically are you scraping it from other sources or are they unique?
I am just asking because I am wondering if it is worth to potentially look at some NLP solutions for automation, they do this for example already for summary match reports on real sport events. But I guess that depends a lot on the conditions.
On the infographics and clips that depends a lot what the source is.
All articles are created by us. I'm not aggregating them from anywhere else. Not scraping anything either so they are unique.
NLP for creation is exactly the kind of idea I was looking for. Do you have any suggestions for software?
I've actually pondered trying to build my own for the site to automate articles.
I have the data so could feed it into a NLP engine that generates articles. Again suggestions on a service would be great.
What I was hoping for with an infograph was similar. I feed data into a service. Based on that data it generates an info graph that I tweak and publish.
Also do you know if any freelance websites have an API that could automatically post for content, assess respondents based on criteria, choose one, then have them provide the work?
Most NLP-based service that are public available are for text understanding/comprehension/compare/sentiment analysis or translation.
Not really for generation of text. So the only thing I am aware of is OpenAI's recently released GPT-3 as a service. But I think it is going to break your bank to go for this.
Other than that there are only very generic & general play toys out there so I guess if you have enough time and compute on your end you could build something on your own. If your text is derived or mostly input from data there is probably an easy subdomain problem space Data2Text. It definitely is an interesting subject.
Definitely interesting. Just need more hours in a day...
I hear you! Absolutely so many things you could do so little time :)
For Social Media posting, I just released https://PostMaker.io
Hey,
Thanks, I just checked it out, I like the idea, but it looks like it's manually. I'd need to manually create the posts, then manually export them to CSV, then manually upload them to Hootsuite or similar.
Are you able to add an API to automate any or all of these steps?
