Hi Everyone,
This week we released what I feel is the best Pain Killer for affiliate marketers!
👉We call it AutoScan!
Alright, I agree, it's not easy to get excited by something if you don't know the background story...
But if you're an affiliate marketer, you will soon realize how powerful this new feature is, and hopefully join me for the celebration!
It's a conversion data platform that allows affiliate marketers to track, attribute and sync conversion data from any affiliate network to their marketing tools (google analytics, facebook pixel & Conversion API, webhooks, zapier etc... )
<head>, which will magically track and tag all your affiliate links and form submissions, and sends these events to your marketing tools.AutoScan is the latest function added to the JS TAG.
It joins the AutoTag and AutoTrack functions, which are the magical and lightweight processes that relieved already 80% of affiliate marketers pain.
💡 What is AutoTag
The AnyTrack TAG automatically appends query parameters to affiliate links - according to each affiliate network's settings. These parameters allow AnyTrack to track, attribute and sync conversions with analytics, ad networks and marketing tools.
CJ Affiliates:
sid=customparameteraffialitelink.foo?aff_id=123&sid=oa0as8df0as8df0as98df098rel="nofollow cj"💡 You'll understand in a minute what is the link attribute cj
Rakuten:
u1=customparameteraffiliatelink.foo?aff=123&u1=oa0as8df0as8df0as9sdafasdfrel="nofollow rakuten"💡What is AutoTrack:
The AnyTrack TAG automatically tracks onsite events & engagements and sends these events to Google Analytics, Facebook pixel and other pixels. This function is activated for all links that are identified with the attribute rel="nofollow" or rel="sponsored" or that are identified as affiliate links.
⚠ Both features can only work if the AnyTrack TAG ✔ identifies the affiliate network's link syntax so it can append the proper query string parameter (sid, tid, u1 etc...
⚠ there are hundreds of query parameters and no standards‼
Now, imagine you run a blog or a comparison website where you promote dozens products from affiliate networks - i.e. Rakuten, CJ Affiliates, Impact etc..
To make your life easier, you manage your links with a plugin such as prettylinks. The links look nicer rather than expose long and scary query string parameters.
ex: https://yoursite.foo/go/iphone-case
One day - perhaps today;) - you come across AnyTrack on indiehackers, and you're tempted to try it, but soon realise that you will have to either give up on prettylinks and expose the ugly affiliate links, or manually tag each link with the proper attribute in order for AutoTag to function.
🧠 Remember the link attributes i mentioned earlier?
Example:
<a href="https://yoursite.foo/go/iphone-case"
rel="sponsored rakuten">Buy the iPhone Case!</a>
👉 That's where AutoScan steps in and handles this entire process for you so you don't have to write or modify a single line of code!
In a nutshell, AnyTrack will track any outbound links, whether it is identified or not. In cases where the link hasn't been associated to a specific affiliate network, AnyTrack will crawl the link to identify the affiliate network and save the configuration in your JS TAG.
👉 🧝♀️🔥 Next time the link appears on one of your pages, AnyTrack will AutoTag it.
Example:
<a href="https://yoursite.foo/go/iphone-case?u1=asdfsadfsa123123123"
rel="sponsored">Buy the iPhone Case!</a>
With this new feature, AnyTrack becomes a true "plug & play" solution that magically lets you bring all your conversion and sales data in your Google Analytics, Facebook pixel and other marketing tools, so you can truly measure your organic and paid traffic's ROI.
Comments, feedback, questions are more than welcome!
