B2B Legal Tech Project - Looking for tech co-founder

Hey all—

I'm looking for a technical co-founder interested in tackling the sexy, mysterious and titillating world of enterprise legal technology! Currently, we're in the early stages of development and finalizing the scope of our MVP to test the waters, generate interest, and start building relationships with early adopters.

The concept

In a sentence, we're transforming legal contracts into valuable, dynamic business assets. The concept is a middleware/API focused platform that extracts contract data from a business' contract repository and links it with other business applications to improve biz insights, save money, and a whole slew of other use cases. Contracts contain so much critical and useful information regarding a business' relationships, financials, services, liabilities, etc, but after they've been negotiated and signed, they're placed in a document repo to never be looked at again. We want to change this.

The team

The current team consists of a data scientist working on the extraction/NLP components and myself. I'm a corporate attorney, I love legal tech, and I've had some great employment opportunities that demonstrated how valuable a tool like this could be for many, many companies. We're extremely motivated, have some great secret sauce contacts to tap when we've finalized our MVP, and we're ready to build something cool.

You?

We're looking for someone with general full stack experience who's willing to work on a side hustle for equity. If you have some integration middleware/API development experience, that's even better. I don't know what I don't know, so if you've got other relevant experience and the project sounds interesting, please reach out.

Feel free to drop a line here, add me on tweeter, or shoot me an e-mail.

Hi Matt, how are you approaching acquiring early adopters or customers? And for the contacts you have, what are their current problems?

Hey there--I'm a huge advocate for validating the need for a project before code is even written. Because of that, I've been conducting potential user interviews + maintaining contact with a variety of small to middle-market users to better understand their problems and opening the door for later conversations regarding trying out the product.

The issues are far and wide and largely depend on the technology stack the particular company is using. There have been recurring issues though, like: lack of insight into contents of their contracts in the aggregate; lack of meaningful analytics regarding vendors/customers and terms of their agreements; no ownership of contract relationships post-signature.

Thanks thats a good summary. So do these lack of insights cause specific revenue issues or excess expenses (lawsuits, extra employees, etc)? And are there specific examples you heard from the customer chats?

Hey Matt, full stack here with considerable backend/API experience. I've always been interested in the legal space. If interested, let's chat.

Definitely--feel free to drop me a line and we can set up a good time. E-mail and twitter are in my profile!

Hey Matt I have played around with api integrations but wouldn't call myself full stack person, I'm more relevant in the data science universe. Nonetheless I would love to collaborate, it kind of overlaps with what I'm trying to achieve too on my rural scale. Do let me know!

Great--I'd love to compare notes. I just followed you on Twitter
