B2C vs. B2B as an indie hacker

I'm currently working full time as a product manager and software developer, thinking about starting my own business instead of looking for a new employment.

I always have a lot of ideas, but most of them are in the B2C space.
As far as I heard B2C products have a lot higher price sensitivity meaning that I need more customers for the same revenue.

Also I have ideas for products that would be B2C and B2B but only get their USP for businesses once the B2C part takes off.

Would you recommend starting a B2C company as the first own business? Or rather get some capital by starting something in the B2B space to fuel the growth of the B2C product?

Agreed with all the comments. It is so difficult to do either, B2C or B2B. There are so many days you just want to quit. The best is thus to go with what you really care about , so you have the most chances to pull through the rough times.
The way I usually decide to take on an operational role in a venture is by projecting myself into a future where the business is highly successful, then ask myself, do I like the guy I would become to get there?
Many times I believe an opportunity is worth investing money in, but it is just not me, not what I want to be recognized for. Ask yourself: If you either build a B2B that becomes widely successful 10 years from now, would you feel confortable with that future, or would you have this lingering feeling you should have done something else with your time?

Go with your experience. You are almost certainly a widely experienced C already, maybe also a B but in fewer areas.

PixxiBook is very firmly B2C and also non-recurring but that's ok and quite manageable as the average transaction is relatively high valued.

I've ventured into both space; haven't had any exit so take my advice with a grain of salt. B2B is typically easier for small teams as you're dealing with a handful of clients. Being able to focus on a few verses a lot of users helps to get things started. Besides the economics are stronger for b2b early on.

My most successful indie hacking friend just went straight for B2C. B2B is definitely more popular on IH. For me, B2C

A lot of people are strong advocates for one or the other, but both can work. Neither consumers nor businesses are going to stop buying things anytime soon, so if you can make something they want, then you can get some to buy from you.
