About 3 years ago I built freddyfeedback.com. It did get paying customers, but not as fast as I wanted (or unrealistically hoped). Luckily I got to sell it for a very good price after I went back to working for a startup.
Currently I'm in a combination of freelance and indie hacking. Started off with launching a small free dev tool to scratch my own itch.
When testing an API endpoint I just wanted to:
➡️ Make a request
➡️ See the response
➡️ That's it 😅
Apparently in today's word that means downloading native apps, creating an account or plowing through cluttered UI (or all of the above 😄).
So I built a simple little tool for just the purpose of making a request and seeing the response.
You can find it here: https://requestresponse.app and the PH launch is today: producthunt.com/posts/requestresponse-app.
Let me know what you think!
great little tool! upvoted and bookmarked, thanks joost!
Thanks!
When you say indie hacking, you mean like actively participating in this community?
When I say indie hacking I mean... indie hacking 😅
Upvoted. I like the design and how it works and I do agree the modern tools became too complicated (sometimes I use Postman or Intellij IDEA native requests tool but neither of them are comfortable enough)
Thanks! Yeah those tools can be cumbersome. Simple is sometimes so nice. After making it simple the real challenge begins: keeping it simple.
Best wishes for your launch!
Thanks!
I like the tool.
Congrats Eskimo
Congrats on your biz sale!
Thanks so much for this!! I wanted to build something like this too! Current tools have become unnecessary complex. I will definitely be a user, it’s very helpful. I’ll recommend to others too. Wish you all the best!
