We just launched our new landing page for https://bananas.app/

  1. Can you tell what do you think the product does?
  2. Why is it different to other platforms/apps?

Thanks for your feedback :)

It looks more like Couchsurfing Hangouts now option, and with so many users, it still attracts very little interaction.

Its definitely one feature which can be packaged better, like what you did with Bananas.

Love the design too. Just signed up for early access.

    All the best

    1. Plan events together with people nearby deciding what to do (go out drinking, weekend trip, ...). and find new friends.
    2. I don't know what else comes close: facebook groups? meetup events?
    1. 1

Thx Martin - 2. I think it’s kind of an hybrid between Facebook and meetup but quicker :)

    1. Tinder for ideas
    2. I never used any similar products, but bananas look fun.

I'm thinking if your product can be converted into a board game?
    @Branxie

      1. Yeah nice
      2. Hopefully you could use it when we develop it.

About the board game, that's definitely a cool project. Thx for your feedback! @felix12777

Excited to hear. @Branxie keep me posted :)

    I really like the design!

    To answer the questions:

    1. A way to meet new people who want to do stuff? It's not really clear. A new way to organise things with your existing friends or to meet people?
    2. I would compare it mostly to meetup, and you seem to not put the communities in focus but the events that are being organised.
    1. 1

      wow that's actually pretty accurate.

      1. Nice! we tried to cover both use cases, existing friends and new people. Since the goal is to do stuff no matter with whom.
      2. Definitely you're right, profile pictures are all black and white and focus is on the what happens in real life.

      Thx for taking the time!

    • LOVE the design of the app

    Few ideas: :)

    • Map would be a cool feature?
    • Gamification would come as a cool thing
    • Limit number of persons

    Overall it looks great

      Thx for your feedback

Yeah nice - haven’t thought about map but true, cool feature.

About gamification, it’s a central piece, also for monetizing it. We think of the whole experience as a game.

About, limit number of persons, do you mean limit number of users with access to the app or limit number of participants for an idea/potential event?

      Glad you like it!

      1. 1

Sorry for not being clear, the idea was to limit number of participants for an idea/potential event - what if 150 people show for a beer @ O ' connells :)

Also, if I'm the organizer of event it would be cool that potential attendees get notification when I show up.... just my 2 cents :)

        1. 1

Oh ok thx - your 2 cents are really appreciated!

I think we need to make clear in the landing page that the user who proposes an idea, can accept/decline interested people by swiping as well.

After that a chat room will be created, with the only purpose of achieving the idea.

Will definitely work to make it clearer ☺️

    What an awesome design!

  7. 1

I don't care for the idea, but the design is deliciously awesome!

    1. 1

Haha alright I guess we’ll take that

It looks like a voting system. Have you built the app yet? If you have not, be sure to check out xamotoolkit.com

      Thx - checking it out!

    1. Plan events with friends and see who's going or not.
    2. No idea, I don't know why is this better than a Facebook Event for example.
    1. 1

Thx for your feedback, I think the action point for us is to make clear where we position against Facebook event, we will work on the wording

    2. 1

I don't see myself swiping right on a lot of events. It is very unlikely that I plan 10 events in advance.

      1. 1

Yeah, more than events are ideas of events, that’s the point, if you don’t get enough people interested in the event you don’t have to even bother to plan the event.

I think that’s quite accurate. Our vision is to empower people to do more in real life, using the technology to achieve that.

We want people to have less screen time but the screen time they spend is at least fun :)
