Battery Day (Day 169)

Did you watch the livestream of Tesla Battery Day?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l6T9xIeZTds

The best part is how the audiences attend this meeting! The come back of the drive-in theaters!!! lol

During the 10-15 minutes sneak peek I took, there were 2 or 3 mentions of the first principle thinking. It is amazing how long we have had batteries and the tech wasn't innovated further before Tesla. Elon Musk also emphasized that the competition will catch up on the car design, but praised that the technology for manufacturing is 10x or 100x more difficult.

In the book "Lifespan", the author David Sinclair also expressed awe in how far the automotive technology has come along. There are sensors for blindspots, rear traffic, rain-sensing, radar collision detection and tire pressure monitor, etc., etc. Why aren't we having more sensors monitoring our health? Comparing to the sensors in our cars, the Fitbits, Apple Watches are really still in the infancy. Despite the awesome "it already does that" video ad by Apple, I really hope to see more technology advancement in health monitoring devices.
