Hey everyone — sharing something I have been building.
The problem: Restaurant owners spend $500-2,500 on professional food photography, or they use phone photos that look amateur on delivery apps. Monthly AI tools charge $15-27/month for something restaurants use 3-4 times a year.
The solution: Beautiful Food enhances phone photos of food into professional quality in 30 seconds. Upload a photo, pick from 19 restaurant-specific styles, download. Under $1 per photo, pay-per-use, no subscription.
Key decisions:
Pay-per-use over subscription (restaurants update menus seasonally, not daily). Enhancement over generation (builds trust — we enhance their real food, never generate fake images). 19 styles purpose-built for delivery apps, social media, and print.
Stack: Next.js 15, React 19, Supabase, Replicate API, Stripe, Tailwind CSS, Vercel.
Where I am: Pre-revenue, product is live, working on first customers. Would love feedback on the product, pricing, or go-to-market approach.
Love the idea and the product. I bought a credit pack and no credits came through, is this product still available? probably should have asked first but hey here we are.
Nice idea! Improving real food photos instead of generating completely new ones makes a lot of sense.
Many AI creators focus on creating highly styled images with prompts, lighting setups, and artificial backgrounds. That can look impressive but also feels a bit overproduced for everyday restaurant menus.
This approach feels like a practical middle ground: take a normal phone photo and just make it look better.
Curious if restaurant owners prefer enhancing real photos rather than generating new ones from scratch?
