Behind the shiny "Featured" badge on Product Hunt, here’s the unfiltered reality of my Vercel dashboard after 30 days.
30 days after launching Retry on Product Hunt and Reddit, these are the actual numbers:
• Unique Visitors: 125
• Page Views: 505
• Bounce Rate: 59%
• Goal Creations: 17
The launch day spike was exciting. Everything after that? Completely flat.
Three hard truths this dashboard taught me:
1. Unseen code is basically non-existent code.
I poured countless nights into building the core logic by myself. Yet out of 125 visitors, only 17 even tried creating a goal. Lesson: Without distribution, your product doesn’t exist.
2. Vanity metrics will lie to you.
30% of traffic from US/Canada? Mostly bots and crawlers. I’m done comforting myself with fake hope. I still haven’t acquired my first real international user.
3. One-time launches don’t build businesses.
Launch platforms give you a spark, not a fire. I’m done chasing hype. From now on, I’m going directly to the communities where our users actually live — habit builders, productivity nerds, and puzzle enthusiasts.
0 × 0 = 0. No sugarcoating.
This is my real ground zero.
Fellow solo founders — how did you push through the dreaded “flat graph” phase after launch and find your first real users? I’d genuinely love to hear your stories. 🕵️♂️
