Being a solo founder is hard.

Being a solo founder is hard.

You're working tirelessly for no return (yet).

There's no clear direction, just endless noise and content pulling you in different directions.

It's lonely.

Nobody cares, and nobody wants to help.

You're working with limited time and no money.

You're climbing the mountain of uncertainty, wondering if it'll even work out.

But through all of this, you keep going.

And that's why you'll make it...

Because when you're determined to move the needle, even 1% everyday,

It becomes a matter of time.

Inch by inch my friends, keep going, keep pushing.

You will make it.

Would love to connect with others doing this unique journey to support each other. Anyone down? Maybe like a private discord or whatsapp group for <5 people or something. Great post @AveryHooks

Discord or Whatsapp group, I'm in!

    2. 1

Good idea. Maybe create a whatsapp group then post the invite link here?

Great idea Daniel, I actually have a community for early stage founders running right now.

It's a great group if you'd like to join earlystagefounders.co

      1. 2

Best of luck with it Avery! Sounds promising

    4. 1

      Let's create a discord server.

  2. 2

This really resonates, Avery! The journey of a solo founder can be tough, but your determination and daily progress make all the difference. Keep pushing forward!

    Thank you for sharing this!

  4. 2

It is, but its well worth it! Less negotiation, less headaches! :)

    1. 2

True, it grants incredible speed in decision making but perhaps well-established partnership structure will be more effective.

      1. 1

Yep, some ground rules need to be set.

  5. 2

Absolutely, being a solo founder is challenging. You carry the weight of decisions alone, juggle multiple roles, and often face loneliness in the entrepreneurial journey.

    1. 1

So true, very much worth it though!

  6. 2

It will all be worth it in the end. So whoever is a solo founder keep pushing!

    1. 1

      Absolutely! Keep on going

  7. 2

    Is it hard? Sure.

But man it's so freeing and rewarding.

Having co-founders may be slightly easier.

But you're introducing many more new variables, more things to balance, more squabbles, less time spent on building and marketing.

And definitely less freedom, not to mention often also less upside!

    1. 2

I agree, I think it's well worth it to go solo on a new venture!

Community around you of others working side by side on their own projects can solve a lot of those problems too without giving up equity or decision making power.

  8. 1

So true! only, the "Nobody cares, and nobody wants to help." it's there when we are employees so.. a lest 1 less to complain about hehe. Thank you for sharing and let's keep it up! ❤

  9. 1

Im also looking for someone who is genius in marketing and sales

  10. 1

Yeah. At some stage you need help from others.

  11. 1

Being a solo founder can be tough, but you’re not alone. Seek advice from mentors, build a support network, and don’t hesitate to delegate tasks. Break your goals into smaller steps and stay focused on one thing at a time. Remember, taking care of yourself is crucial for success. Keep pushing forward, and you’ll find your way.

  12. 1

Nobody cares, and nobody wants to help.

I know the feeling. A solo founder has to move every inch by him/herself, no one else will push the product forward.

That said, I have tons of friends, family, ex co-workers who want to help, and offer me encouragement, but the problem is... they can't really. They can maybe offer some advice/suggestions, but it's nothing more than one more thing on my "to-try" list.

So people care, and want to help, but can't really.

🚀 Hey founders! Dm me for a genuine sign-up and personalized feedback from me! Let's build and grow together! 💡

There's no clear direction, just endless noise and content pulling you in different directions.

I built something to solve precisely this. Check if out at https://indiemaking.com

It consists in 2 tools: a library of resources to build profitable projects, and a gamified tool to guide you through the building process by breaking it down process into sequential levels broken down into missions.

The latter tool is the one that might interest those struggling with a lack of direction. It's still very much in construction (I haven't started the library yet) but please do share some feedback!

For anybody interested, here's a community for solo founders designed to help members learn from everyone's trial and error, not just there own.

We've had a few members already make incredible progress, form partnerships, and get their businesses off the ground in just a few weeks.

  17. 1

you think having a collaborator/partner would help?

    1. 1

Absolutely, I have a private group for early stage founders and it's been hugely helpful for me and for the other members.

      1. 1

        can you add me there?

This was a great post, and it would be quite helpful to connect with other solo founders. Keep focusing on your goals and surround yourself with like-minded people who support you.

    1. 1

Totally agree. I actually have a small, private group of solo founders and it's been a huge help for everyone. Let me know if you'd like to join!

Being a solo founder is tough, with endless challenges, loneliness, and uncertainty. Despite limited time and resources, your determination to improve daily, even by 1%, ensures that you'll eventually succeed. Keep pushing, inch by inch, and you will make it.

    1. 1

That's it! Just keep pushing and keep buiding momentum.

  20. 1

Not only do nobody cares, you'll also receive negative/hateful comments that aren't helpful.

And really, a lot of the time it's simply working for no return. Not working for no return yet.

    1. 1

Yea exactly. The negativity is pretty brutal, but we just have to keep building momentum!

  21. 1

Don't forget your friends and family will also think you're lazy and just screw around all day, while you're probably working at least 2-3x harder than a typical job 🤦‍♂️

    1. 1

For real! You're seen as a failure until you're a success.

  22. 1

Entrepreneurship is difficult, but success brings huge benefits. The road to success is always difficult, otherwise it would not have been successful

    1. 1

"Entrepreneurship is difficult, but success brings huge benefits. The road to success is always difficult, otherwise it would not have been ..." fulfilling.

    2. 1

Totally agree. It's well worth it in the end.
