Benefits and Insights from my open-source AI Tools Directory

I launch the Tap4 AI Tools Directory：

The successful launch of the Tap4 AI Tools Directory is majorly attributed to the GeFei community. Encouraged by GeFei, we aimed for everyone to have their own AI Tools Directory website. Therefore, we not only launched the Tap4 AI Tools Directory Site but also made it open-source, creating a product that even tech novices can deploy and maintain within an hour.

Tap4 AI Tools Directory is Now Open Source

While there are many AI navigation sites on the market, we aim to be closer to independent developers by adopting a build-in-public and open-source approach. We strive to build an AI navigation station alliance, supporting independent developers in publishing their products and adding SEO backlinks. Our open-source repository is available on GitHub Tap4-ai-webui, and we welcome you to star and fork it to deploy your own AI Tools Directory site.

Benefits of Open-Sourcing

Our AI Tools Directory product is still in development and lacks many features compared to mature navigation sites. However, through open-sourcing, we have already gained a lot. With the support of GeFei community members, we have achieved over 170 stars and 59 forks. Many who have forked the project likely deployed their own navigation sites, helping at least 50 individual developers to create their first version of an AI navigation site. Many community members have reached out via email or WeChat, providing us with more communication opportunities.
To make it easier for users and developers to discover AI navigation site products, we have added a Startup module to the Tap4 AI Navigation Site (https://www.tap4.ai/startup). This module aims to aggregate the mainstream AI navigation sites, allowing developers to submit their products more quickly and gain initial traffic.

Insights from Open-Sourcing

As shared in the GeFei community, AI navigation sites serve as the second gateway (the first being Google) for users to discover AI products. We can identify many user search needs for various products, which helps us explore new product ideas. Additionally, inspired by the AI navigation station alliance, the Tap4 AI Tools Directory Site Startup module aims to provide a more convenient service for developers to submit their products to the navigation site. This facilitates a more efficient method of gaining backlinks and enjoying the fun of cold-start customer acquisition.
