Best alternative to canny.io for single-person SaaS?

Canny.io wants a king's ransom for their starter plan: $50/mo. Just ain't gonna happen. I'm in the very earliest stage with a handful of people providing feedback and cannot justify the cost.

Fider (https://getfider.com/) looks like exactly what I want except it is self-hosted. I have a rule for myself: The only app I'm responsible for hosting is the app I'm developing.

hellonext (https://hellonext.co/) looks like it is in the ballpark but $25/mo still feels too expensive.

Anyone have success with an alternative to canny.io?

Something in the $6-15/mo range would feel right.

Sarah, you're showing spirit here. This is what I love about startups. They still have a soul for humans behind the computer.

Are you up for doing more podcast interviews? I've just interviewed Mubs (of PH fame) and Arvid (of Feedback Panda) and am interested in talking to more technical founder bootstrappers!

https://noorahq.com starts from $9/month for bootstrapped companies. Much like Canny.io, it offers:

    • Feature voting/feedback boards
    • Public roadmap
    • Changelog/product announcements

We have a few case studies with some of our most successful customers on our website. Some of them are even members here.

Give Hearken a try. In terms of comparisons to Canny it's quite feature rich, and it's free.

    Hi Jester,

while this post is from last year I only found it now: I feel Productific is exactly what you describe in your post. A free plan is available for smooth getting-to-know and testing without trial time pressure, the start-up plan at €7/mo is perfectly within the range you mention feels right.

Feel free to PM me for any question or feedback.

I was in the same boat as you. My product sslzen.com (open source) provides free SSL certificate via LetsEncrypt for wordpress websites.
I reached out to canny.io and they provided me with a free account. God bless them.

I reviewed 30+ tools similar to Canny and made a comparison in many aspects here:

You can also try my Open-Source alternative with a starter plan at $10/mo that includes feedback, roadmap, changelog and a lot of customization. Later you can also export your data and either self-host for free or import to another competitor.
