Hey guys,
First post here! Excited.
I live in a relatively cheaper part of the world and I'm looking in to starting a Virtual Assistance service for things like
And other such stuff. There's already a market for that, that's pretty established. What you guys recommend would be the best channel to promote such a service other than ads
Cheers
Other than networking and delivering exceptional work for your clients so you get referrals, I think one of the best channels will be to use sites like Fiverr and Upwork to get clients.
Sites like Fiverr are perfect because it gives you the opportunity to show potential clients how good you are. Once you complete that initial transaction with them, you're no longer a stranger so they're 100 times more likely to give you more work if you ask them for it.
Great idea. Do you have an online presence so far?
I don't think it would be any different than setting up an online business such as a marketplace. You will have to do double-duty; to find sellers and buyers. Since you're trying to target your local community, then why not do the traditional marketing route?
Ads in newspaper, flyers in foot traffic areas, contacting local universities, using geographically-targeted facebook ads, going to local tech meetups, etc.
Thanks for your input! Actually. This won't be a marketplace per-se. I'm not looking for uber scalability and if I go with marketplace style, I will be competing with sites like Upwork, Fiverr and a few other giants. I'm going with a fixed rate service. I will be housing the VA's under one roof as some Philipines based companies do.
That's a good start. Why do you think setting up a shop like that is not in competition with freelance sites? Are those shops more B2B instead of B2C?
People don't usually go to places like that to hire VA's on a monthly basis (I mean they do, but there's room for niche site in this dept). They're bit of both but mostly I'd say B2C
