Best CMS for a SaaS?

Hey,
I'm planning to develop a SaaS and almost every SaaS needs a Content Management System. I really struggle to find the perfect fit, and almost think it's better to develop one myself. I searched for headless and regular CMS, but they are always pretty expensive like Contenful and they don't always support multiple Clients.

Maybe you can help. I search for an affordable CMS that supports multiple Clients with a good-looking UI. Some recommendations?

Have you checked out Sanity? I've used it for several consulting projects (some of which were SaaS apps). My favorite thing is how flexible it is.

I still love WordPress and use it as the Marketing site/CMS for my SaaS, but I'm also extremely comfortable with it, so I would go with what you're most comfortable with.

I hear ya on Contentful. Very generous free tier but it goes from $0 to $500 real quick. Sanity, Prismic, Ghost, and headless WordPress all look like solid alternatives. Planning to use Sanity for my next project and self-host.

Built https://versoly.com/ for SaaS at the start.

Comes with a page builder, blog cms, knowledge base and a changelog.

Looks like you're a dev as well so you can use the code editor to import/edit/export code without learning a new GUI.

Not sure this will meet your definition of multiple clients, but I just kicked off a project on Webflow. So far so good. I have not gone deep on the CMS side yet, but it was highly recommended by many early stage marketers.

Let me know if you find something better :)

Webflow is great for design but the CMS is absolutely awful. I'd take headless WordPress over Webflow CMS any day.

Yikes. That isn't what I was hoping to hear...

What in particular don't you like about Webflow's CMS? Want to know what I'm getting into

Terrible editing experience. Clients I've onboarded to Webflow have really struggled with the editor. General feedback is end-users prefer WordPress, Squarespace, and even Wix over Webflow. Changes save inconsistently. The editor is buggy. And as the developer, I don't have much control over the editing experience. The best end-user experience has been Contentful. Provides the ability to really fine-tune the interface and implement controls.

To hear Contentful is the best makes me think there is still opportunity for a business in this space...

Thanks for the insight. Will do some research on the other options. Appreciate it!
