Best content marketing angles? What niches have the best engagement?
Always start with content marketing to get my startups off the ground. I've found that when I have a unique angle/voice/niche and dig deep on that vs. writing more generally, people subscribe and engagement significantly better.
What content marketing approaches have worked for your startup?
I think it depends on your audience, but in general, I try to write tutorials about how to accomplish a problem that I'm solving with my product. Then, there's a natural call to a action when people find the DIY method too difficult.
For example, I just started working on a content marketing analytics project and plan on writing my next post about how to setup your own Google Analytics dashboards to measure content performance. It gets pretty technical to get the same KPIs that I track, so my goal is to have people give up and purchase a subscription 😄
Know your markets, define your consumers, and get creative when targeting them, and apply common sense.
I think if you're really deep into some topic, you'll inevitably come up with a lot of cool content ideas that you could turn into a specific, highly engaging, and interesting piece of writing.
