Best email hosting platform for smaller clients?
Hey everyone!
Been freelancing for a while now and recently I've moved more and more away from WordPress/PHP to the JAMStack for a lot of my clients' websites, so most of the time I really don't need the expensive reseller hosting I've always used, I can just host the sites much cheaper or even for free on services like Netlify.
However, Netlify and similar platforms don't offer simple email hosting that would meet the needs for a lot of my smaller clients.
I know about services like GSuite and Outlook, but I'd really just like something similar to the kind of WHM/cPanel email account setup you usually find on shared or reseller hosting plans because they usually give the client the ability to set up quite a few email addresses without any extra hosting cost.
I've searched and searched for something but can't find what I want, I don't really want to make this service, but I might have to just to solve my own problem 😂
Zoho $1/mo/user, namecheap $0.80/mo/user.
I use https://ecohosting.co.uk/ for my emails. This was the cheapest option I found, as a single address was £7 per year I think. Not sure how much it is to add extra addresses.

One of the main reasons I moved years ago from WHM/cPanel email accounts was spam. Did that change in recent years, or is it still a big issue? I would receive over 100emails in my inbox, and all of them were spam.
I currently use GSuit and create a bunch of aliases for my needs. Would that not work, or you need an email per person?
If you are looking for cheaper alternatives, Zoho and Rackspace offer email hosting or sign up for the cheapest BlueHost plan, and you get five free emails with it. You don't have to host your website with them.

My experience is with WHM/cPanel is pretty good spam wise these days, maybe I'll just end up maintaining a lower cost shared server to just host email for clients but that seems like madness somehow.
The problem I have with GSuite is it just won't work for most of my clients, it will get too expensive too fast. For instance, one is a driving school and a bunch of their office staff have email accounts and so do a bunch of the instructors. The accounts don't need a lot of storage per account, but they are necessary for a lot of small things.
