Where do you host your apps pictures such as profile pics?
Cloudinary. They have some excellent URL-based filters (face detection, cropping, etc.), a powerful set of SDKs, and a generous free tier.
For stuff users are uploading I've been happy with https://aws.amazon.com/s3/
It's not too difficult to setup, and all the languages I've used have easy hooks into it.
