About a year ago I got fed up with a rising cable bill and decided to figure out whether streaming could actually replace it. What started as a two-week experiment turned into months of testing every provider I could find. Here is what I learned along the way.

Every live TV service looks fine at midnight on a Tuesday. The real evaluation happens at peak load. These are the checks that ended up mattering most.
I never subscribe based on a demo page. I run one focused session at peak load β Saturday afternoon, big-match night, not a quiet weekday.
Get the channels you'd actually use up on screen. Keep them running for around thirty minutes each. Switch between them fast. Add a second device and stream at the same time. See when things break.
Half an hour like that is the only benchmark that matters.

After all of that I ended up on one service that passed every test I ran. It handled weekend fixtures, midweek European nights, and the random cup games I threw at it.
Setup was three minutes on the app. Monthly billing means I walk away the day it stops delivering.
